CBT (Compulsory Basic Training)
The legal starting point for every new rider. One day on 50cc or 125cc, automatic or geared — pass and ride with L-plates for two years.
A1 & A2 Licences
A1 for 17+ (up to 125cc) and A2 for 19+ (up to 47bhp). Module 1 and Module 2 training on our off-road pad and 3km practice road.
Full Licence & Direct Access (DAS)
Full unrestricted Category A for riders 24+ via Direct Access — ride any size or power of motorcycle. Intensive course options available.

How to Get Your Motorcycle Licence
From your first CBT to a full unrestricted licence, we guide you through every stage.
Book Your CBT
Every rider starts here. Book your Compulsory Basic Training online and choose your site — Exeter or Okehampton. No licence experience needed.
Complete Your CBT
A one-day course covering the basics on our off-road pad, then a short road ride. Pass and you receive your DL196 certificate, valid for two years.
Theory Test
For a full licence, pass the motorcycle theory and hazard perception test. We will point you to everything you need to prepare.
Choose Your Licence Route
A1 (17+), A2 (19+, up to 47bhp) or full unrestricted Cat A via Direct Access (24+). We help you pick the right route for your age and goals.
Module 1 & Module 2 Training
Train for the off-road manoeuvres (Mod 1) and the on-road riding test (Mod 2) on our practice road and pad, at a maximum 2:1 ratio.
Pass & Ride
Pass your tests and hit the road on the bike of your choice. Need a bigger licence later? Come back for your A2-to-A upgrade.

The course every new rider must complete before riding on the road. Spend the day with a DVSA-approved instructor learning the controls and safety checks, practising on our off-road pad, then completing a short on-road ride. ✅ The Details Duration: 1 day (allow a full day) Bikes: 50cc or 125cc, automatic or geared Kit: Helmet, gloves and hi-vis provided; bring sturdy boots and trousers Result: DL196 CBT certificate on completion, valid 2 years Sites: Westpoint Exeter or Okehampton ✅ Who is it for?
